Five teams participated in canstruction® at the Mall of America September 24-26, 2011for the 6^th Annual canstruction® competition. The teams consisted of: Perkins+Will, Van Sickle Allen & Associates, AIAS Students, HDR Architecture and AECOM.

The teams began their build out on Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday morning the entries were juried by Stephen Fiskum, AIA, COO HGA Architects and Engineers and President of AIA Minnesota; Cindy Timmermann, Fiber Consultant Antron® Carpet Fiber, INVISTA Performance Surfaces & Materials; Rhonda S. Pierce, P.E., Pierce Pini + Associates, Inc.; and Geoff Glueckstein, Sr. Vice President, JE Dunn. Sunday afternoon the Awards Gala took place with emcee David Dimond, AIA, CID, LEED AP BD+C of Perkins+Will. This year we donated approximately 10,000 lbs of food and over $3,000 in cash to Second Harvest Heartland.
