Charlene Barrett, RN, served the San Diego Association for Men in Nursing as Education Intern in Fall 2025 and Education Chair from January through August 2026. During her tenure, Charlene assisted with critical community health, harm reduction, and chapter initiatives. Including authoring the July 2026 issue of the SDAMN newsletter. Dedicated to public health outreach and youth engagement, she collaborated with Julie Ho to create tailored curricula for high school educational sessions and led volunteer teams across multiple community events, In the harm reduction space, Charlene developed instructional materials for community Narcan distribution to ensure compliance with County of San Diego regulations, while successfully securing state-allocated fentanyl test strips to pair with overdose prevention kits.
